If this holding is more focused on financial services in SEA, why not just allocate to Sea Limited at that point? Stronger fintech numbers and better synergies.
Hey Zack, yes good question. It's something I am considering after learning that the synergies in Grab's mobility and deliveries business is not as strong as I initially thought.
That said, in terms of valuation, I do think Grab is the more attractive buy on balance. I'm currently torn on it but am actively re-evaluating my position. Sea is currently multiple times larger than Grab in terms of position sizing, and I'm relatively happy with the split for now.
This stock only goes one way and its not up!. Lets be honest this tock is dead-money for a while. There is huge technical overhang selling pressure from both Toyota and UBER. If Oil prices fall this might see some near term upside but fact is to integrate Atome will take at least 2 years and so there is no catalyst for this stock to move up. Buying Atome, moving into consumer lending when rates are high and credit cycle is about to turn seems a bit foolhardy. At least I can offset other gains with losses on this stock to help with year-end taxes. Let me know if you have some more strong idea's I need to build my short portfolio.
You right but everything has a price. I’m sure that if it goes to 1 cent- you will buy as much as you can, so the question is at what price range should we start buying again

The debt piece is where the clean growth story gets tested.
